Description of πŸ‘• Dritz Clothing Care Seam Roll 82503: Enhancing Garment Maintenance

This seam roll is used for pressing seams open on long and narrow areas. Prevents impression marks on right side of fabric. Press sleeves without creating a center crease for a professional look. Press pant legs and other hard-to-reach areas. Use wool side (plaid) for woolens, synthetic blends and fabrics requiring low to medium temperatures.

Helpful as described.

This is a slimmed down version of the tailor's ham. It is very convenient to iron the cuffs of shirts and places of similar shape.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Nothing Here

Got this on a whim but found it very useful. Instead, pull out the ironing board for a little seam work. That's good because it's so small that it can be placed in any seam or spot that needs the touch of an iron - who would have thought? I find it very practical and doesn't take up any space. There's more to using ham than that.

Great addition to your sewing machine

Replaces the one supplied. The new one looks like the old one. The plaid side isn't wool, but if the iron is hot enough to melt it, it will ruin the fabric you're using it with. Personally, I don't usually work with wool or tacky, so it's ok. General craft mark and works. These sleeve rolls really make a difference in making clothes and give them a more finished look. I've used it to make quilts with amazing results. Nice article.

Pros
  • Sewing supplies and supplies
Cons
  • Out of style

I like having a seam roller for tailor's ham but I only gave it one star because the part that looks like wool is clearly polyester or something - it melts on Contact with a hot potato! definitely not something a tailor should do! Now I only use the white side against the iron. Otherwise it is well made and does its job perfectly. I just can't rate anything "good" that is meant to be used with a hot iron but melts on contact and specifically LOOKS like wool that doesn't melt. I use mine often…
