I have a Garmin 61. This cable works very well. Very well made. You really need to plug it in during the update as it lasts 2 hours and your battery life is connected to 15 minutes.

When the Garmin Drivesmart 51 is new it comes with lots of map updates. Not knowing any better, I hooked it up to the car. Well, these updates take hours when the device is new. After it froze a couple of times, I settled on a wall charger. Doesn't matter. Just plug your Garmin into the wall in the same room as the WiFi and let go. Of course, in addition to connecting to the car, it is convenient to connect the power supply to the GPS device. It's worth it.
