Pull out the toilet for better access.

Product 5 stars. Installation is difficult (not seller's fault). If space is tight and access to the back of your toilet is limited, order a gasket and raise the toilet off the floor. I struggled for half an hour trying to remove the old damaged valve before pulling the toilet out. It only took 5 minutes to replace the valve and reinstall the toilet.

That's the right part.

We inherited a caravan from the north. It has survived several sub-zero winters. Even though it was "insulated", there was still a small amount of water in the toilet valve that would freeze and break. When we set up the trailer to test the systems, we had a fountain. A quick search on YouTube and we found several repair videos promoting this product. Access wasn't easy, but it was easy to replace. 100% fully satisfied and this valve works. Highly recommended. Also, do a little research as you…

just like the original

If you are not a fan of acrobats and have enough space between the back of the toilet and the wall, it is easier to pull out the toilet to replace the valve. The hardest part is getting the old valve out. Releasing the first clip is easy. Holding it up, pushing on the other clip, and pulling on the valve is the tricky part. While pushing the other clip with a screwdriver, I accidentally broke one of the screw hole towers. Luckily it wasn't what I needed. The old valve only had 1 screw. Use the…

Bought to replace a really crappy part with another crappy one

Bought to replace a really crappy part with another crappy one. Not Revain's fault as shipping was great but cheap design. Dometic designed a part that may fail as described in other reviews. I have 2 extras in the van so the expected breakdown doesn't ruin the holiday. This is a disposable part that takes about 15 minutes to replace after draining the water from the RV system. If it fails, it looks like a toilet leak. Then, in most cases, you have to lift the toilet off the floor to get to…

Screws are better! - RV Parts and Accessories

Works Perfectly! Some reviews have complained about the thermoform but it looks the same as the old one and I pulled on it pretty well and it's just as strong as the previous one. Didn't move. Screws with this are much better because they give you a cross head instead of the silly flat head on old screws. The Phillips is easier because the screwdriver won't slip off. No more leak! Ready to fly! Note: I noticed that this valve often breaks in winter. To blow the water out completely, I hooked up

Get a Dometic valve

Dometic valve pictured above. I figured I'd save some money and buy the cheaper $13 version but it had trouble opening to flush the toilet and then only lasted 2 months before it started opening and flooding the toilet . I wasn't home and my daughter had to run outside and turn off the water to prevent a spill! I replaced it with a Dometic valve and noticed a few things. The clips that lock it in place aren't as thick as the OEM clips and aren't in exactly the same position. This caused the…

Don't buy two-toned; All White ONLY

UPDATE NOW IN 4 MONTHS LATER using this product's white color choice which has been 4 months without issue. Please note that the picture of this connector is beige and the threaded connector is white. You want one that is all white in my experience. Continue reading my original post which follows: I looked through 2 of these and another one bought elsewhere. ALL were two-toned; White water connection and beige over everything. Both failed, as did the other bought elsewhere plus another bought…

1 bad can be defective, 2 in a row is a marriage.

After my own valve broke from freezing, I bought two of these valves to replace them and have a spare. After about 1-2 months of work, the valve no longer closed properly. Until one day I had to stand where my boyfriend flushed the toilet every 10 seconds to prevent the bathroom from flooding while I turned off the water. It was quite annoying (no more running water until this is fixed) but I figured it wasn't a big deal. Probably just badly caught. So I replaced it with my backup and…
