Enables the user to monitor the fermentation process to see if variables should be altered or changed and when fermentation is complete. Provides a simple mean to calculate the approximate alcohol content of the finished product. Optical quality polycarbonate provides the clarity of glass with the added benefit of being virtually shatterproof, colored bands and simple font enable for easy-reading.

Accurate readings for substance analysis

As a result of my tests, I determined that this hydrometer provided consistently accurate readings for my various substance analysis needs.The polycarbonate material was also durable enough to WITHSTAND frequent use. However, the markings on the hydrometer could be a bit clearer and easier to read. Overall I am impressed with the performance of this substance analysis instrumentation..

Leaks above as exchanged

Leaks above when liquid is spilled. I tested it with water by submerging it in water for a few seconds and it started soaking the paper in it. I ordered a replacement from them and it leaked too so I asked for a refund and sent the replacement back. If you just need a backup, this will work for you, but I didn't like it. I have not checked for accuracy.
