Do not recommend these batteries

We always buy Duracell but these batteries were returned to us because they didn't work with my garage door remote. They appeared to be slightly larger than the original batteries and the remote control case did not close properly. They were printed with oriental characters and I'm not sure what that means, if anything. While the batteries looked dated, the packaging looked shabby and not fresh.

Believe 20 years plus

The old battery has been in the remote control for more than twenty years. If we lose power in the house and it turns back on, it will set off an alarm on the stored vehicle. The alarm sounds for about a minute, then resets and turns off. This time the alarm didn't go off and had to be reset with the remote. I never changed the battery and didn't think it would work. Every Duracell AA battery I've ever bought and used in the last five to eight years has leaked. For the past four years, they've ruined my doorbells, flashlights, pressure lights, wall clocks, and battery-powered indoor and outdoor temperature sensors. About 15-20 years ago they worked fine.
