These masks are still made from durable materials that are hard to find in masks these days. They are indeed smaller and I would recommend buying the X-Large if you have a horse with a "larger" but still "medium" head. These masks are strong, hold up well to grazing life, and stay put! You also can't beat the price of a mask this durable.

Great mask! This is my second order. I ordered them last year and they have held up great. This year I ordered a refill and got rid of my super masks. After more than a year of very intensive use, only one mask was slightly frayed at the seams around the eyes. For an adult horse over 1000 pounds you will need the XL. L will comfortably fit a horse weighing about 900 pounds. I am very satisfied and recommend them to all my friends.

No Fly hats look hard or uncomfortable made of hot black plastic. They are more durable than other brands on plastic/mesh although the velvet adhesive peels off easily.
