You get what you pay for

If you only want to shoot a little, this tripod may be suitable. I tried using it with my Canon 40D and got about 4 uses of it before the tripod head broke. Another problem is that with a heavy camera you can't really stabilize your head. It slips no matter how hard you tighten the screws. The tripod is lightweight and easy to carry. The cheap price makes it almost disposable, but I was expecting it to have a little more utility.

Cheap plastic parts!

Terrible product! I've only used the tripod twice and one of the angle adjustment parts lost its thread so I couldn't screw in the rod that holds it. When I unscrewed the rod from the socket, plastic shavings fell out of the hole. Upon closer inspection, I saw that everything inside was plastic, not metal. As I said. CHEAP PARTS! The tripod is now almost unusable. I can't believe BEST BUY is bringing this product to market. ATTENTION TO THE BUYER!

  • Finally bought it

Lightweight and gets the job done

For $5 or $10 more (at Best Buy) I could have gotten more features (swivel mount, two spirit levels instead of one), but at least twice as much. Would NOT recommend for professional (and heavy) gear but my camera is one of the heaviest for point and shoot (Canon SX30IS Super Zoom) and this tripod easily supports it. I've been using it frequently (my photo shoots are usually between one and three hours) for a month and have had no issues with the assembly other than the ratchet extension seems…

Pros
  • Good value

  • Volume

For $20, don't expect much from this tripod. At this price, you know exactly what you're getting. This is a cheap tripod that feels cheap but does the trick in a pinch. However, if you have the money and want to use a tripod on a regular basis, I highly recommend saving up (around $100) for a device with better build quality. I use this for indoor recording/video with my iPhone so no big deal. I don't add much weight or weight to this unit, and I have no problem with the foldable legs, which…
