Dyson 916200 01 Duct Iron Assembly Review

This duct assembly fell apart after only a few uses. The plastic components are clearly not durable enough for regular use in a home and kitchen environment. The only positive thing I can say is that it was easy to install. Unfortunately, the cons greatly outweigh the pros with this product. I would not recommend this to anyone in need of reliable vacuum parts and accessories.

As a kid who took things apart but never put them back together, I recommend checking out popular video sites before disassembling. There is a DC25 disassembly and reassembly video by a Brit that I find extremely helpful. Also take reference shots often. My DC25 channel assembly snapped off the pin holding one end of the red down pedal.

I bought this to replace the main body of our DC25. One of the pins broke off at the junction of the leg (the part that fixes the vacuum cleaner in an upright position), necessitating reassembly of the main body. I looked at several vacuum cleaner repair sites online and they all wanted a crazy price (about double what I paid for this item at Revain). The main body swap is not for the faint of heart.
