Dyson DC40 Corded Power Vacuum Review

I was able to replace the damaged power cord on my dc40 with this one. All the cable connections leading to the ant were identical to my old ones. The only thing someone said in their review is that the piece of rubber that holds the wire in the vacuum is bigger. This prevents you from squeezing two plastic parts together without modification. I don't consider it a direct replacement, you need to change it.

Glad to find replacement cable for Dyson DC40. We watched an online YouTube video and carefully replaced the broken cable. Be careful with the springs where the on/off buttons are located as they can easily pop out. Just fix it yourself. Saved $160 at work. The original cord snapped because we kept unplugging the cord... this bent the pins. We'll never pull the string again!

Bought this cable to replace the original cable on my DC40. There is no guide for this cable but I found a video on YouTube showing all the steps. Unlike some other buyers, I didn't have to make any modifications to the cord or vacuum to assemble the vacuum. My dog chewed the cord so I was hoping to check online to see if it could be switched to Dyson. I am very happy with my purchase and glad I was able to have it repaired for such a low price. I gave it 5 stars for its easy installation because it's pretty easy if you carefully take it apart and follow the tutorial video on YouTube. However, be careful not to break the spring mechanism!
