I've been using this replacement hose for a few months and so far it's working just like our original which was about ten years old and ended up drying out and cracking. . Installation was easy (no cutting! Just unclip the end of the hose and pull it out from the bottom of the vacuum cleaner body, then thread a new one through the vacuum cleaner body) and it just works. There is nothing more to say about the hose.

The plastic seems a bit more transparent than the last one I bought. The previous purchase was a long time ago, so I can't remember the seller. But that only lasted about two years. I hope this one lasts a little longer considering the original hose lasted 16 years. The hose on my DC17 broke after 12 years (not bad, right?) so I started looking for a replacement. Stumbled across this and after reading the reviews decided to give it a try. Arrived very quickly. I have a DC17 that is about 15 years old. It's a $500 vacuum and I've never seen one that cleans before. I don't like the new ball design that they no longer sell. Recently there were cracks in the hose near the probe connector. Dyson no longer sells parts for it so I went to Revain and it was there at a great price. For $15 I have a fully functional vacuum again. You need to disassemble the hose connection to remove the old hose and also disassemble, install and then reassemble the new hose.

Cheaper than any other replacement parts I've found. I noticed that some people had quality issues. We haven't had any issues so far and if we have I figured I could replace it a few times at OEM price and still come out on top. Although there were no instructions on how to remove the old hose and install a new hose, I went to YouTube and there was a good video on how to remove the old hose. You need to unscrew the plastic elbow at the bottom of the vacuum cleaner. There is a plastic screw that you need to unscrew to remove the lower knee. But I jumped onto YouTube and found a video to follow and did everything step by step following the instructions. It takes a little patience and a little strength, but overall it's very doable.
