4.5 inch MOVA Globe - Earth Clouds Review

Finally, I selected a satellite image with a cloudy sphere and was immediately disappointed when I saw a horrible looking white line around the sphere, presumably where it joined the two halves of the image. This completely distracts from the idea of a mini earth spinning on my desk. Are they all like that? If no, where is the quality control?

The globe is good but was sent in the original packaging with no outer shipping box or original packaging secured in any way (not even tape to seal - literally lift the lid and there is the globe). When it arrived it was clearly open and there was no stand in the box. So disappointing. I would expect such an expensive product to be treated with care.

We bought this as a wedding present for my grandson and his fiancee as a sweet wedding present. They are world travelers and we are sure they will love it as much as we do. The wedding is only two months later and I'm not sure the box will last long enough. If someone comes, we have to dig them up and show them. I gave 5 stars because it's a great idea, sophisticated technology and beautiful execution. I read on the company's website that this might not work in a multi-story building, but that wasn't true for me. I keep it near a window so there is plenty of light and clearance for the inner magnet to align with the earth's magnetic pole. This is a very cool addition to add as an accent to your home or office. I like how the globe rotates in our window. This has been the focus of discussion several times when we have guests. The stand holding the globe is pretty darn strong and was easy to put together. As some reviews say, the globe is actually a bit bigger than you might expect.
