Haven't tested driving with it. But it was difficult to install. In particular, it was difficult to reach through the holes in the rim to pull the strap forward, this only worked when the chain was on top of the tire. Fitting the horizontal straps was much more difficult as the car had to be moved forward to get the hole in the rim more or less vertical.

I bought these for emergencies because I love ice fishing. I was hoping I wouldn't have to use them. I was towing my RV while hunting deer and got stuck in the mud. You have to use them once and they've already paid for themselves.

These snow chains are easy to install which is an important factor for me. You don't have to go through them during installation. The customer service department is excellent. Responded to my concerns quickly and did their best to resolve the issue. Didn't see the size listed so ordered a size smaller. They immediately sent the larger size and arranged my return at no additional cost. Great chains and great seller!

I happened to see them in action this weekend while helping a four wheel drive suburban car stuck on a hill to get out of it. I also put them on the back of my 4runner and they worked and did exactly what I expected. It was great to see how the purchase works in front of you. Although I've lost 4 of these, I've ridden them about 30 miles and haven't checked the tension. I would probably re-tighten them every 10-15 miles, I recommend it to everyone. Tried twice. The first ones that arrived were defective. I sent back the broken ones and tried again as just attaching seems like a great idea. The second ones that arrived were clearly used and broken. I've also included photos of the defective one (on my tire) like the one that came used and broken. The defective one had chains that were too long and too small in one set. See photo. I still need snow chains but I don't trust this seller anymore! What a waste of time!

Using the red tool to retract the strap makes it easier, but only when the strap is on top of the bar. I'm not sure why heat was an option.
