Using the red tool to retract the strap makes it easier, but only when the strap is on top of the bar. I'm not sure why heat was an option. But if you read the product description, it says not to exceed 40,000 km, which is about 20 miles per hour. And they work. I drove about 5 miles up and down hills and even pulled a stuck car out of a hole they dug. I'd move on, but it's 300 and not designed for it. But the chains held. And yes I have the third one but I don't have a picture of it. I recommend buying them. I'm more than happy. This is a crash chain and I would not run hundreds of miles at high speeds. But in the city I recommend.
