The box was rough and looked like it had been sealed with tape. I opened it and all the details are in there. There were no assembly instructions included. A quick look at the box and it was pretty clear. The stand makes a solid and well-made impression. The powder paint had already flaked off in several places. It will rattle to keep from rusting. Overall very satisfied, especially for the price.

When I received the cage mount I was pleased with the design and quality of the device. During assembly, one of the screws did not go through the pre-drilled holes. It turned out that one of the brackets was not drilled. I contacted the manufacturer with a detailed explanation of the problem along with photos clearly showing the defect. You never answered. This is why I'm giving them one star for not endorsing their product.

Do not purchase this item if you do not have time to fix manufacturing defects before travel. Unfortunately I didn't read all the reviews and found that the brackets didn't line up. I only noticed it at noon before the trip. Called support, they didn't care. The guy said that he was aware of this problem and that it had existed for a long time. He says some work, some don't, that's crap.

Product was perfect for a recent trip of over 1400 miles. The design was good and the quality was good. Depending on the assembly of the vehicle and the placement of the exhaust pipe, there may be a problem that the exhaust gases generate too much heat on the object directly behind. I took a 4 inch jack for my car and it placed the holder just above the exhaust pipe. I might add a small heat shield (piece of metal) to keep the exhaust heat away from the loading corner. Overall this is a great cargo transporter. So far it seems very solid with the small strain I've put on it. The real test will be when I start hauling firewood later in the fall, but I think it will handle it very well. The attempt to collect was interesting. This luggage rack is amazing! I needed extra space to carry gas tanks and coolers so I installed it on the tongue of my jet ski trailer by drilling holes in the tongue and using longer bolts to connect it to the tongue instead of the one provided receiver coupling tube. The top link rails are now 1 1/4 inches shorter but I figured they would be since the hitch tongue is taller than the standard hitch tube. (Of course, this is not the manufacturer's fault.
