ECOGARD XA10426 Premium Engine Air Filter: Perfect Fit for Hyundai Sonata & Tucson Models 2015-2021 Review

Tabs do not align properly making it difficult to snap into place. One tab was broken on arrival (I assume it was a return from Revain). I have to break another tab for it to snap properly. Although I will fit properly after breaking the second tab I will not be buying this brand again. Reading other reviews this seems to be a common theme.

I have purchased Ecogard filters for both of our 2017 Hyundai vehicles. Cabin filters are of poor quality, but at least they fit in cars. Both motor filters were the wrong size and neither had rotating clips to hold the filters. Their base is very flawed and the quality of the filters is cheap (China). Bought for a 2015 Sonata. It's the same size as the OEM filter I removed but it doesn't have locking tabs and snaps at first Slide it in 3/4 of the way slightly, you need to put some force on the other 1/4. I tried to remove the filter and it came out, but I had to use pliers and pull hard. After that, the filter didn't look damaged or crushed, but something was wrong with the fit. I bought 3. I got this for my 2016 Hyundai Tucson and the locking tabs on the filter broke during installation. I noticed that the locking tab lever doesn't fit the OEM filters so you can't turn them far enough into the locking position and when you close the door on the filter housing the tabs disengage. I compared the OEM strike plate, the small notches don't match the OEM so you can't snap them in place. However, with no mounting bar or tabs broken off, the filter fits perfectly in the air…

In the photos to the left is an old 2018 with side protrusions that fit perfectly. The one on the right is the one I just received. It's missing lugs, it doesn't have a year and the rubber is a bit thicker which makes it harder to slip. It is assumed that both products are the same product. I ordered one last year.
