Something is wrong with the fit
Bought for a 2015 Sonata. It's the same size as the OEM filter I removed but it doesn't have locking tabs and snaps at first Slide it in 3/4 of the way slightly, you need to put some force on the other 1/4. I tried to remove the filter and it came out, but I had to use pliers and pull hard. After that, the filter didn't look damaged or crushed, but something was wrong with the fit. The overall quality of the filter material appears to be satisfactory. I'll use it for now, but I don't recommend this filter for your 2015 Sonata. Not sure if the padding is too thick or what the problem is.
