ECOGARD XA6280 Premium Engine Air Filter for Mazda CX-5, 3, 6 - 2012 to 2021 Models Review

Although I ordered an engine air filter, the cabin filter is on the box. I was close to returning it but decided to test it with an old filter first. It was indeed the correct engine air filter and the labeling on the box was incorrect. Just something to be aware of when others are in the same situation.

Perfect for my 2012 Mazda 3 Sky Active Hatchback. Easy to change, just loosen the clamp on the inlet hose, twist the inlet hose a few turns, it will come loose and the filter housing will open properly. Better to play around with the intake sensor wire clamps as shown on the U-tube. It took 2 minutes to change after a 30 second rating.

Save $60 and install cabin air filters yourself. My Mazda dealer charges us $70 for a Mazda cabin air filter change, which I find incredible. These filters work just as well as dealer filters. Don't confuse the Mazda dealerships, but all body shops and dealerships charge about the same price.

I bought this engine air filter for my 2018 CX-5. It fit perfectly, required no tools and took about 5 minutes to put together. To change the filter you need to locate the air filter housing under the hood and undo a couple of clips. No tools required. DO NOT do this at a Mazda dealership. They will charge you $90. Great product. It's very easy. Make sure you watch the online YouTube videos carefully otherwise it takes a very long time to insert this. It's very easy if you spend more than five minutes on it and you probably won't paste the right path. It cost a lot less than the Mazda funeral product which cost me $40 plus labor. I've done it all for less than $15. Very happy about that.

My poor little car needs oil. So I finally accepted it when I got tired of being told my oil change was overdue.
