I bought these to hopefully stop using environmentally harmful dryer sheets. I used to use a bounce dryer but they no longer make it. Full of crap. When I tried to be green I found these balls. They're supposed to reduce drying time and eliminate static, but I haven't really seen much of them. I think it's less static than if I didn't use anything. The drying time is about the same. I like putting essential oil on balls because it smells nice on clothes. So not great, but not terrible either.

I personally don't use chemicals so I find these dryer balls to be a great alternative to dryer sheets for my family. I add 5-10 drops (depending on strength) of whatever essential oil I want to scent my underwear with. I'm not sure if they reduce drying time (I have a feeling they do to some extent), but that's not my main purpose of using them. These dryer balls are nice and tight and I don't see them unraveling. Ye! I tend to "collect" dryer balls and currently use about 9 (the 3 I made are pretty hard to make; the 3 I bought are pretty small and they're starting to shrink a bit to unravel; and this one).
