Description of πŸš€ Enhanced Performance with Edelbrock 8711 Phenolic Carburetor Spacer in Sleek Black

Used where more plenum volume or more carburetor-to-plenum floor distance is required. Spaces your carburetor above the intake flange to increase plenum area. High-tech, 4-hole, black, phenolic carburetor spacer with 1 thickness. Withstands extreme temperatures. Enhances low-RPM torque, throttle response and dampens reversion effects on the carburetor.

Order longer studs with this kit

The spacer itself is of excellent quality but the studs are too short and the threads are very weak. I was expecting the lugs in the Edelbrock kit to be of good quality and long enough to fit their most popular carb, but what can you do?

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • Reliability

Decent but not great - fuel system

Studs too short. The spacer seems good enough, but for the price the cleats shouldn't require me to buy a threaded rod to make my own. This has been lamented by many over the years and Edelbrock will not address it. Give us longer hairpins, not too short. Edelbrock intake, carburetor, Edelbrock space, but Edelbrock studs will not work.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Too short studs in carburetors and parts

Spacer seems good but now I'm waiting for longer studs before I can try it to solve heatsink problems on my Chevy 51 truck. If you use thick spacers, forget about it and order longer cleats. The bobby pins that come with the kit may work if you use thin paper spacers. I have a sbc 350 with a 1406 Edelbrook carburetor. First Edelbrook fault I've encountered so far. By price. The studs should be longer.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Warped Carburetor Spacer #8711

I paid more for this product because I expected it to be done right. My fault, it's crooked. The carburetor gasket should be flat, but it's about .022 from corner to corner. It doesn't seem too bad, but when I tighten the carb the shims don't fill the gap without deforming the throttle body. Edelbrock tech support can't help as I've been waiting for over an hour. I'm still waiting. Ribbed for an easy piece to the point where I have to smooth it out myself.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
