Great for WiFi Direct for Oculus Quest 2

I bought this because Immersive VR for Oculus Quest 2 suggested it would help with connectivity. It works great for that and I am very satisfied. I am using Mac OS 10.15.7 and there is no problem.

Does not support MAC OS Mojave YEAR

This product does not support Mac OS Mojave released more than one year ago. Ha-ha-ha-ha. When I contacted support to find out what product they make that supports my Mac OS, they sent me a link to their website. No help. Old software. No support. It's not worth it.

Great solution for creating a direct WiFi network

I chose this to create a direct WiFi network for my VR glasses when using multiple monitors with Immersed VR on my Mac. the modem is faster than the standard for my macbook. Great purchase, just hoping it still works with the Catalina update coming later this month.

Convenience and Plug and Play

I work for an MSP, Managed Service Provider, where we are the IT for our customers. I am constantly setting up many desktops for our customers. Client WiFi adapters take a while to load from time to time, but to check if WiFi is configured, just plug it in and turn on WiFi. This is also useful if the built-in Ethernet port stops working.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Some nuances

Edimax AC1200 USB3.0 wireless adapter.

I installed the drivers and connected it and it worked quickly. BUT. The connection to the Internet is lost every few minutes. I had to keep reconnecting. I've tried everything to get it working properly, but no fun. I had an edimax N150 that worked flawlessly for years. I wanted to get something faster. I reinstalled N150 and no more connection problems. I'm coming back for a refund and might look for something else or just plug in an ethernet cable.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than others

Excellent USB Adapter

I was looking for a 802.11AC Wifi USB 3.0 USB Adapter with Mu-Mimo. I also bought a TP-Link AC1300 USB 3.0 Mini WiFi Adapter for comparison. Edimax had a slightly higher bandwidth, but was also smaller. Also, it doesn't block the adjacent USB 3.0 port. Compared to the built-in WiFi card in my Asus laptop (802.11N), Edimax is more than three times faster. The built-in WiFi downloaded a large file at 71 Mbit/s versus 260 Mbit/s (Edimax). I highly recommend this Edimax USB 3.0 WiFi adapter.

Don't buy this junk.

Where to start. Regardless of the type of origami you use, start with step 3. Steps 1 and 2 are about halfway through, advising you to use the included CD to install (the box is large enough to hold a USB adapter), but no CD. When you finally get it to work, it keeps disconnecting the network and goes from looking at a few networks to concluding that there are no networks. When it's plugged in, you're lucky enough to hit download speeds of 35kb per second. I have fiber optic internet with one…

Works with High Sierra 10.13.6

I purchased this product last week after spilling a drink on my laptop's wireless receiver. I'm using a vintage 2013 MacBook Pro updated to High Sierra 10.13.6. I searched a few USB wireless receivers for one that said it worked with this particular version of the software, but most settled on the fact that they work with 10.13.4. There was a comment that said it worked with that OS, so I went with that one. I've been using it for a week now and have no complaints. It works well with this OS…

Serious driver issues limit WiFi speed in Windows

After updating Windows 10 1903 I noticed a sharp drop in WiFi speed. I used to be able to get over 200Mbps on download, but now I'm limited to 54-64Mbps and haven't made any changes to my network at all. With a different WLAN antenna I get my full speeds again. I've done my best to tweak some of the driver options, but the modes presented are rather cryptic and not overly intuitive. From time to time I find a setting that gives me full WiFi speed, but as soon as my computer goes to sleep or…
