Cute Handheld Children’s Toy

My 8 month old son loves music, and he finds the sound of the beads in the rainmaker so entertaining. He holds and shakes the toy like a rattle, but he also loves it when we slowly turn it and move the beads around for him to watch.

Pros
  • Drums & Percussion
Cons
  • The toy may not be very effective at promoting physical development

Mesmerizing for 6 mo old granddaughter. Keeps her attention.

Perfect size for my 6 month old granddaughter. She is mesmerized by it and the sound of the little colorful balls falling keeps her attention. We also roll it, causing the balls to flip around inside.

Pros
  • The rainmaker can be used as a tool for speech and language development, as children can mimic and repeat the sounds they hear
Cons
  • The toy may not be very effective at promoting gross motor skills

Great sensory toy in my review

My youngest is entertained by this and it keeps him busy. It would make a good gift for younger kids. It also makes a great sensory gift.

Pros
  • Baby loves it
Cons
  • The rain sound can be too loud for some children

Definitely sounds like rain.

This is a great sensory toy! Lots of colorful beads and has a great sound when you topple it back and forth. That's my feedback!

Pros
  • The rainmaker is durable enough to withstand repeated use by multiple children
Cons
  • The rainstick may not be very effective at promoting empathy

My husband tried to open this.

.and he couldn't. As in, he tried to crack off the top and get the balls out. Why, I don't know, but he couldn't. Yay! My husband is a pretty strong, tenacious guy.Very nice toy! Our toddler likes it and we enjoy playing with it too.

Pros
  • The rainmaker can be used to encourage creativity and imagination in young children
Cons
  • The toy may not be very interactive for children with advanced motor skills

Universal age gift good for me

Both granddaughters loved it. It is smaller than I thought. But that’s a good thing. Easy to travel with in a diaper bag and have for car trips. The three year old liked it as did the 1 year old. Doesn’t make an annoying sound either. As the name implies, sounds like rain. Recommend.

Pros
  • My son likes it, good for visual and sound stim
Cons
  • The colors and design may not be to everyone's liking

Mama likes it but baby is unsure of it.

I bought this toy thinking my 7 month old baby would love it. I got the opposite affect - he started crying. I showed it to him while the beads where falling down making the rain noise. It made him cry. Plus, I think the way the clear plastic housing is made does something with his eyes becuase he turns away after looking at it for a few seconds. After a month of having it out, he is slowly warming up to it. It's not his favorite but the fact he plays with it every now and then is a plus. I…

Pros
  • The rainmaker is suitable for both indoor and outdoor play, making it versatile and adaptable
Cons
  • The rainstick may not be very effective at promoting hand strength

Favorite toy at daycare

Purchased this to take to daycare for the babies during diaper changes. It migrated to the play area where it quickly became the favorite of ages up to 5. And the staff cant seem to leave it alone either. Seems to be comforting to them also.Short story - it is a hit!

Pros
  • My son loves it
Cons
  • The rainstick may not be safe for very young children due to small parts

Just as expected on my review.

This rainmaker is dollar store quality. That being said, it is just what I expected, so I got exactly what I wanted. And I love it.My 3 year old loves playing with it (tho i would suggest only supervised play with toddlers, due to the quality of the item).I would recommend.

Pros
  • Great value, priced with other companies and was double the price.
Cons
  • The toy may not be as educational as advertised

Awesome and durable!

Amazingly well build and fun to play with. My daughter loved it and believe me she was ROUGH with it. Threw it everywhere. Never broke the whole time we had it. Just sold it in a yardsale because she grew out of it

Pros
  • FUN TUMMY TIME: This rain stick is designed to encourage toddlers to crawl during tummy time through sound and visual stimulation.
Cons
  • The rainstick may not be very effective at promoting language development

Magical toy!: my feedback

This toy is magical! We first saw this toy in the hospital. My 5month old son had a procedure done and couldn't eat while he was coming out of anesthesia. He was hungry and hysterical and nothing could console him until a nurse walked over with this rain stick. He LOVED watching and listening to it. We ordered one before we even left the hospital!

Pros
  • Cute and soothing
Cons
  • The rainstick may not be easy to grip for some children

Spin, twist, turn? best in my review

So it’s a classic rainmaker, however the photo displayed under description lead me to believe each section turned and twisted, instead it’s just one solid rainmaker you shake. The same as every other product out there, and slightly pricier. It’s cute but the product information should be clearer.

Pros
  • QUALITY SOUND: First started as a professional musical instruments company, Halilit later launched its baby product line. The original rain maker has high quality and realistic sound. Turn it over, shake it or roll it around for clear and soothing sound of rain.
Cons
  • The toy may not be very engaging for children who prefer more interactive toys

I love it, baby likes it.

I love to tip this toy up and down to listen and watch all the balls fall through the slots. The product is well made, no sharp edges and there are lots of balls inside the shaker.I think I may be more fascinated with this toy than my baby. but I think as he gets older, he will enjoy it more.

Pros
  • The rainmaker is a musical instrument that can help develop a child’s sense of rhythm and timing
Cons
  • The rainstick may not be very effective at promoting emotional development

Generic & fine for the little ones.

It’s fine. It’s the ordinary one that everyone gets. No complaints. If buying for someone other than infant or toddler, I suggest you look at other more interesting versions.

Pros
  • Musical Instruments
Cons
  • The toy may not be very engaging for children who are easily distracted

Awesome little sensory item!

I bought this for the sensory center in my pre-k classroom for students with autism. It has been a hit! Every single one of my kids has taken an interest in it at some point. We have had it for a couple of months now and it has held up just fine through a being put in water, hit on a table, thrown across the room, chewed on, etc. :)

Pros
  • The rainmaker can be used to teach children about different cultures and traditions, as rainsticks are often used in folk music around the world
Cons
  • The rainstick may not be very effective at promoting fine motor skills

Nice toy but ours was not made in Israel

My wife found this toy at a church nursery and said the children liked it. It was a bonus that she saw it was made in Israel. I searched Best Buys reviews and some aslo said that the product was made in Israel. But when I received ours from Best Buy, the toy it was made in China.

Pros
  • The rainmaker is lightweight and portable, making it easy to take on the go for playdates or trips
Cons
  • The toy may not be very effective at promoting problem-solving skills

A big hit with my 6 month old

My baby girl loves this toy and the sound it makes. I only gave it 4 stars because you do need to shake it for the beads to continue dropping (as shown in the video). However, my daughter loves the sound it makes when we shake it so it works great for us! It feels durable and my daughter loves looking at it with all of the different colors.

Pros
  • WHAT’S INSIDE: 8 inch rainstick instrument, BPA & Phthalate free and meets latest acoustical safety standards. Recommended for ages 6 months & up.
Cons
  • The toy may not be very effective at promoting imagination

Entertains all ages!

Bought this for my 9 month old boy, but his siblings and cousins ages 2, 3, 6, and 8 all love playing with it! Great little toy.

Pros
  • Babies and toddlers will love exploring the different sounds and textures of the rainmaker
Cons
  • The toy may not be very effective at promoting spatial awareness

Perfect toy all around

Perfect toy all around. My brother grew up with the same one and loved it! I now have a four year old who is autistic and this is the perfect toy for him to stim-out to. He loves to watch the beads drop and it gives the satisfying noise as well unlike the colored oil/water droppers (which he also loves)! It's a good size as well.

Pros
  • It got my grandson attention he is autistic so great choice
Cons
  • The toy may not last very long with regular use

Worth the money. in my review

Both of my daughters liked this toy. Age 4 and 10 months. So different age ranges like it which is a plus. Just had hoped it was bigger.

Pros
  • My special needs son loves it. He bigger then I thought but my son can still grasp it well.
Cons
  • The rainstick may not be very versatile as a musical instrument
