Perfect for my classes on Egypt and hieroglyphs!

I bought these for my class and cut them in half so each student had their own piece of papyrus. They liked it! You can use a pencil, marker or ballpoint pen on it. They wrote their names in hieroglyphs. It was great work!

Thicker than expected

Ordered for a school project for my child. I'm not an expert on papyrus, but this material is very dense. I thought he could make a scroll out of this or something, but I don't know if that's possible with this stuff. It turned out great for the project, but don't think you can bend/fold/fold/manipulate it in any way.

Pros
  • Test for a year
Cons
  • Not as good as written

Genuine Papyrus: Manufacturing

Nicely made papyrus. Beautiful light brown color, vertical and horizontal papyrus stripes are distinguishable. The strips appear to have been glued well and fairly together. The paper does not tear, there are no holes or bulges. The surface is smooth enough to write/draw on various media. These guys know what they are doing like the ancient Egyptians, this is a masterpiece of a product. That's exactly what you get when you go to Egypt.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Can take damage

excellent BUT. in paper

This tissue paper is wonderful to work with, I used it in a shoji canvas project. Cost, durability all 1+, the only downside is the actual size of each piece. While the overall dimensions don't exceed 12 x 16 or any of the other suggested dimensions, almost 40% were significantly smaller than the advertised dimensions. many smaller by up to 2 inches. If actual size is critical, consider purchasing more than one of the 50+ pack sizes as these also have sizing errors. I bought 4 packs and nearly…

Fast, high quality, real papyrus.

I have ordered Papyrus from Crafts of Egypt several times over the last few years. They are fast; This last order arrived within a few days of placing the order. Papyrus fully corresponds to the description. It can be cut or torn, stained with tea or coffee, or left alone and written on with pencils, ballpoint pens, felt-tip pens, or ballpoint pens. Sometimes some sheets can be a little thin, but they have never been unusable. This last batch is a good heavy stock. I have been very happy with…

Great quality and authentic look

I have ordered this brand of papyrus paper to make some old rolls of papyrus for the cover of my next book. It worked great. First, I crumpled up some leaves and unfolded them. Then I colored them with coffee and baked them in the oven for 10 minutes at 200 degrees. This gave them an aged dark brown effect. I then used a candle to give each piece a little burnt edge. They were a bit brittle after cooking, but rolled into buns with some care. The result was better than expected. I would…

High Quality Traditional Papyrus

Crafts of Egypt really exceeded expectations for the quality of the paper they produce, this is a small company with a lot of potential. This material is ideal for teaching ancient culture in the classroom. The quality and depth of craftsmanship makes the texture and feel of the paper incredibly authentic. Rami, the owner of Crafts of Egypt keeps a close eye on the news and will send you updates from time to time. I really appreciated it and as soon as the package arrived he sent me a personal…

Pros
  • GREAT PIECE FOR ARTWORK: Enjoy a fantastic experience with our Egyptian paper while feeling the grid of papyrus stems to see how the sheets are made, it does not curl as it dries quickly, flattening out easily and can be used for an art project, scrapbooking, school history project as it takes ink well and folds well.
Cons
  • High Price

Ideal for elementary school teaching, pointing and storytelling. Unfortunately, I purchase these items to create promotional artwork and the sizes listed in the Revain description do not reflect the actual size of the item. All 10 items I have received are 7 3/4 to 7 7/8 wide (not 8 inches) and 11 1/8 to 11 1/2 long (not even close to 12 inches). This means that the image generated requires many additional steps to create parts or a custom frame for each. In any case, this reduces the cost of…

Fine Arts Teaching Colleagues

A must for teachers who want their students to experience a product that has been used for centuries. I buy Papyrus every year for classic language courses. Colleagues courses at the Faculty of Fine Arts. "borrow" my papyrus and pens to give my students a practical lesson. The students love it. I recently purchased another batch so our club could organize a social event for children to have a quick lesson on how papyrus is made before they write and draw on the pieces. This paper can easily be…
