Expensive but NOT great.

I paid over forty dollars for a German made aquarium pump because I was sick of the buzzing and rattling - why can't the industry make a silent air pump and NOT just claim to have made one? The four rubber feet, while very soft to keep the pump quiet, are not attached to the bottom of the unit and keep falling out. If you buy this pump be sure to glue the legs in place. This pump has a rubber mount so you can hang the pump on a nail or screw it under a cupboard - if possible. This is the best…

Eheim Air100 - Quiet Air Pump

I used the Eheim Air100 to install a bubbler in my 29 gallon fresh water tank. I was planning on using a long bubbler to create a wall of bubbles, but that was too much combined with the commotion caused by the tank's pump/filter. I ended up using the aerator that came with the Eheim pump and even dampened it with the air control valve. I also turned the air regulator on the pump all the way up, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. A non-return valve etc. is placed in the air hose…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Empty

Can be retrofitted into aquarium pumps and filters

For the price, this product is not worth the price. It's quiet and I enjoyed this product during the time I had it. I also liked the choice of airflow setting. But after 5 months of use the pump was useless. I noticed that the power was reduced to almost zero and on closer inspection I noticed that the connection between the pump and hose was completely broken or dry rotted. The pump didn't move, it didn't push against anything, and I never messed with the hose that came originally attached. I…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Powerful but quiet, the best aquarium pumps and filters

I don't know the difference between these units as another reviewer mentioned but I got the same unit but more square than round which he one used for a long time. It's pretty quiet, but I don't have anything to compare it to as it's my first pump. The noise level is about the same as my QuietFlow 10 filter. I can hardly hear any additional noise when both are running. I would say it's too strong for my 10 liter tank. I've turned the pump to the lowest setting and tried adjusting the diffuser…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not bad

I already have an Eheim 100 air pump. It's great: very quiet (approx. 48 dB(A), comparable to the ambient noise in my area) and durable. The pump I received is different from the picture in the description and the pump I already have (see photo). This other design is not so good. The noise level is 20% higher (58 dB(A)) and the rubber feet don't stay in place (my version of the pump has non-removable rubber feet). The resulting pump is not suitable for me as my fish tank is a desk in my bedroom

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far, so good
