Eheim CompactON Aquarium Pump 2100 Review

I installed this as a back pump in a Red Sea 170 fridge. It was quite noisy at first and I almost got it back but I decided to wait a bit to see if it shut down completely was. It's pretty close to being as quiet as a pump can be today. The reservoir is a few feet from the head of my bed and I can't hear it because of the fan I use for white noise to help me sleep.

I have had an Eheim filter and Eheim pump that have worked for years and I love both units. This pump arrived damaged and I have been trying to resolve this issue with eheim support since January. Finally found someone today to tell me the problem was out of warranty even though it was defective on arrival. I am so disappointed in them and tempted to give them up to buy another company's products. It's a real shame because my other two pieces of eheim gear are amazing.

I have the next larger pump in the same series (3000 not 2100). They are physically identical in size and inlet and outlet pipe size (both inlet and outlet 3/4" on both models. The only difference are the markings and the motor inside.
