Paper Circle Hole Punch & Paper Crafts

I have ordered these for the labels/tags I make for the products I make. They only perforated 1 sheet of index cards well, but when I put film on the cards the perforation was poor. So for me still a 5 star paper/card only product (and since it's a paper punch that would be reasonable).

Pros
  • Brilliantly Made
Cons
  • For a long time

Works great with printer paper (only)

I understand this product is for scrapbooking so assuming it will work on thicker paper might be my fault. As the title suggests, this works like a charm for printer paper or something similar in thickness. Unfortunately, when I tried using it on heavier sticker paper, it tore those poor bastards to shreds.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • New competition has arrived

The punch only works occasionally

When it works (I bought a 2.5" round punch) it works great. BUT... it gets stuck or fails or something like that every 5-6 hits and doesn't break through at all, effectively destroying the piece of paper stuck in it. I use watercolor and medium paper - not as thin as printing paper, but not nearly as thick as even thin card stock. Also, if you're not careful, he'll pinch you badly.

Metal shavings, breaks after 4 uses

Heavy, cuts cleanly but doesn't last long. It broke after being used to punch four 2.5" paper circles. Four. I didn't use thick or rough paper - it was no thicker than printer paper and a sheet. After cutting out four circles, the mechanism stops working and can no longer be used. He also left splinters of metal all over the paper and counter. We return and look for the best product.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Almost never

Disposable Limited Use Punch

This worked about 100 times. After that, he became extremely blunt and would not even pierce a sheet of paper. In addition, the stamp is offset, so it is not in the circle and therefore cannot penetrate anything. The plastic body appears to be molded around the metal, making it impossible to disassemble for sharpening or maintenance. I was thinking of looping through the old scissor sharpening trick, but since the punch isn't aligned I can't even do it. use this. It's useless now

Doesn't work for my project

Let me say this hole punch seems to work great on paper and card stock. I bought to cut round paper for vinyl stickers. Every time I cut a lap, the car would get stuck and wouldn't separate again. In the puncher's defense, my sticker could be part of the problem. It's like the cut isn't sharp enough to smoothly go through the decal and make a clean cut. All the edges of the stickers were torn and I think the sticker paper itself may have stuck to the inside of the machine causing it to get…

The best and worst hole punch on the market

Best of its kind and terrible. I make 2 inch buttons professionally and need a precision hole punch on my assembly line. Over the years I have tried every brand available and have found that they are all unnecessary. EK Tools seems to be the best, but 50% of the time the product fails on the first hit and needs to be replaced. The rest begin to fail after about a dozen hits. You start out with a good crush notch, but soon the head alignment becomes shaky, the cutting edge becomes soft, the…
