too weak - blinds

trying to install them was a nightmare, they bent and you couldn't straighten them. I will try another way later, I am now a cancer survivor trying to regain my strength and my husband recently had back surgery. Neither of us can do anything right now.

Window Blind Fasteners

I needed 2 packs but ordered 3 because some reviews said they were bent and didn't hold the shutters in place. Of the 16 attempted, 2 went in and held on while the rest flexed and failed to fix the breech. I ended up buying Lowe metal curtain screws with plastic caps to cover the screw. It worked and was very user friendly. Those plastic clasps were useless and I wouldn't recommend using them.

Screws by contractor

Fasteners (plastic) do not work well on masonry. Most of the development has vinyl siding, but the condos are clad in brick. It was tricky, but I drilled a hole for the grout and filled it with construction glue first, then reattached the blinds. I only wish the gray tuxedo buckles were stronger to insert, but I blame the contractor for this accident. I believe these brackets are for wood and vinyl siding only. Many Thanks.

Perfect Replacement

During a recent storm my vinyl blinds were partially ripped off. I was able to pry the heads off the old pins with a claw hammer. Using a 1/4" bit I was able to go through the hole in the breech and either drill out what was left of the old broken pin or drill a new hole nearby. After that a new pin was placed in both holes and tapped lightly on the hammer, to finish the job I just bought a few more to have on hand My shutters are 25 years old and on the sunny side of the house.
