Seems to be working great. They stretch enough to fit snugly into my HOB's air intake without tearing. Openings large enough to allow good flow but also capture larger particles that would normally quickly clog the filter cartridge.

Very thick foam, poor quality. It is so dense that it hardly lets water through. They need to be cleaned every few hours or the water will stop flowing through them completely. waste of money. Ridiculously difficult to clean. I kicked them all out.

I've lost my love for the original aquarium filtration system. I needed a different buffer system. Mounted above the inlet, it keeps larger debris out of the larger filtration system. Great solution for my filter system.

I have a red-eared turtle tank. A lot of edible plants were added to the aquarium, pieces of which were constantly being sucked into the inlet of the filter, reducing the water flow. This pre-filter made everything disappear. The plant matter still sticks to the pre-filter but it doesn't interfere with the water flow so I can replace it with a new one and clean it without damaging the filter.

I have one in 55 and two 20 gallon HOB filter tanks. This is a great way to reduce filter maintenance costs and add more biological filters. It's very easy to clean. I simply fill the bag with water from the aquarium, move it around, tighten and carefully remove. A few vigorous splashes of aquarium water are enough. This is a haven for beneficial bacteria!
