2nd time - very nice

bought these to replace a bad one on my 2008 volvo pento 5.0gxi. The first one I got leaked after plugging it in. I contacted the seller and he sent me a new one which took about a week. Installed a new one and it works great. Run for 5 hours, let's see how long it lasts. If I get 2 years of it I'll be happy about 800 for a new one.

Pros
  • nice packaging
Cons
  • boring packaging

BAD/BAD: Fuel Pumps and Accessories

I installed this item on July 24, 2019. I was only able to run my boat for 18 hours after which it failed again, the high pressure pump was only putting out 3psi. and it should be around 45-50 psi. I tried returning it with a 2 year guarantee and didn't get a seat! THIS PRODUCT IS NOT SAFE TO TRUST, IT WILL GET YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF A BIG LAKE! THANK GOD FOR TOWING!

Pros
  • So far satisfied
Cons
  • Compatibility

Ordered two of these and both had the same problem. The float needle valve never closes. This causes the engine to overflow with gas! The tank should fill with gas and then the valve at the top should close when the float inside reaches a certain point. Then, if there is any, a small amount of residual gas must get into the intake manifold. Instead, every time you prime or start that pump, gasoline enters the intake manifold at a ridiculously high rate! Because of this defect, I had to do two…

  • Sturdy construction

Delivery Error: Fuel Pumps and Accessories

Second attempt at an aftermarket pump for my boat's Volvo Penta engine. This vendor didn't have a better product than the first. The pump came out of the box as advertised and the packaging was adequate to protect it during transit. Installed the pump. The first problem is that the supplied fuel filter is too long to simply tighten with a filter wrench. The wrench is caught in one of the pump fittings. The OEM Volvo fuel filter has been shortened to correct this problem. After installation, the

Fuel leak on first use.

Delivery was quick, packaging and product looked good. BUT when I installed it and did the first test. Fuel was leaking around the round plug on top of the low pressure pump (see photo, sorry photo is not 90 degrees). I confirmed that it wasn't coming from any of the connections I made during installation and then started looking. It won't spill during operation, but I believe this is the suction side of the pump and so fuel must have been drawn in and be under a slight vacuum in that area…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Negative impression
