This new one replaces the one I had for years. An essential tool for the DIY enthusiast and for those who want to ensure that the neutral and hot wires are properly connected in the proposed connector.

I was already fairly familiar with this tester but couldn't find mine so bought 3 to have an extra. One didn't work properly, but it says it's non-refundable, which I find odd.

I tested a total of 20 sockets with this when the foundation was laid and the device was divided into two parts. The floor kept sticking to the sockets and it wasn't a problem because it still went in and out and worked fine. By the 20th, however, the bottom was stuck.

This is a bit more than a standard socket tester as it also tests the GFCI - push the little red button and the fuse on the GFCI socket should open a powered outlet until you reset it. Note. The description says "with GFI reset" but that is incorrect, there is no way to reset the GFCI with this plug in tester, you have to press the reset button on the socket itself.

Bought several and always plugged into specific outlets. Various GFCI wall faucets turn off the faucet. I've read that older devices are the likely cause. My current GFCI devices are legacy devices and have no visual indicator when powered off. Install a new 15A GFCI in the garage where the freezer and second fridge are located. The electricity goes out at irregular intervals.

The grounding plug on this tester came loose (broken) after the tester was used on about 3 outlets. It's bad design if the grounding plug breaks so easily. Apparently I'm not the only person this has happened to. To make matters worse, Revain wouldn't let me return the defective tester. Shame on Revain for not endorsing the products they sell. The Revain website states that if the product is defective, it can be replaced or returned, which is an absolute lie.

Bought to check the outlets in my living room to make sure they are all plugged in properly before installing my new flat screen TV and surround sound system.
