More force. I will never use points again.

I am impressed and highly recommend the Nova II Ignition Module. My cast-iron Briggs has been running with tips and a condenser since 1968, and replacements cost anywhere from $35-$50 a set. So I decided to order the Nova II module for $10 and change it up. The morning before the last tractor ride, I installed the device in just a few minutes. Installation was very easy, the hardest part was deciding where to place the quarter sized module. The engine started immediately and now idles better…

worked fine on my homelite xl 12

My dad gave me two old Homelite XL 12 saws from the early 70's, one of which he used for wood, this saw bored me to death as a teenager cutting wood and I loading got it on a truck, he bought another one as spares. In any case, many beautiful memories remain. I was proud to receive the saw at the time but wanted it to work again. We need points and a capacitor, but nobody else has them. I bought this Nova 2 module but after reading the instructions it said it is not recommended for flywheels…

So far, so good. in spare parts

Chic device. Used to replace the tips in the Craftsman 358-350870 chainsaw. Requires multiple mods. Housing space is limited, so you must mount the device on the recoil starter housing. I put a 10-32 allen head screw into the threaded hole in the case. You don't need a lot of torque to hold on as there isn't a lot of thread, but enough. The elongated thread was cut flush with the outside of the case. Be careful to route the wires carefully so they don't touch the spinning magnet flywheel. I go…

A really easy and reliable upgrade to ensure spark plugs.

I've recently started rebuilding a small 1953 REO 211-G engine. I disassembled most of the major components to inspect for damage and then cleaned them. The single-cylinder, manual-start, four-stroke engine had a capacitor-type starting system. Basically, a magnetic flywheel spins around a metal coil (magneto) and creates a charged magnetic field. The capacitor creates an increased voltage when the piston compresses the vaporized fuel in the valve chamber. The spark plug creates an arc in the…
