Review on Enhanced Performance with the Electronic Transistorized Ignition Module Nova by Ryan Fuhrer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far, so good. in spare parts

Chic device. Used to replace the tips in the Craftsman 358-350870 chainsaw. Requires multiple mods. Housing space is limited, so you must mount the device on the recoil starter housing. I put a 10-32 allen head screw into the threaded hole in the case. You don't need a lot of torque to hold on as there isn't a lot of thread, but enough. The elongated thread was cut flush with the outside of the case. Be careful to route the wires carefully so they don't touch the spinning magnet flywheel. I go back and wrap the wires to make sure they don't wander. You will also need another female spade connector to convert the included wire which should have used a wire nut for improved connection and a cleaner install. Set the magnet gap distance from the flywheel with three strips of newspaper (tested with a micrometer at 0.010". Really works!). Do not turn the spool screws when attempting to remove them to adjust the gap. The thread pitch is either -32" or 0.80 metric, none of my thread gauges have been able to determine the size of the screw. I used an impact wrench to unscrew it. Sparks looks really healthy but the device hasn't started yet, I'm waiting for a few more parts. If I launch it I will edit this review accordingly.
