Waste of money best for aquarium heater and cooler

This product is not worth 0.5 cents! Don't waste money on this! This lasted for an hour before it ran out of steam and nearly killed my entire tank! Please do not buy!

Great product with great performance

First of all the package arrived 2 days early, good because it's for an office aquarium so I installed it on Friday. At this point I was more confident that they would survive the weekends when the workplace is cold during the winter months. Thanks also for the great price!

lasted an hour - aquarium heater

Very poor design. The fill line is millimeters from my tank above the flow. Cable is a foot long. I plugged the heater into the slowly turning knob after it got used to the water temperature until the light came on. I walked away for 30 minutes and noticed water seeping through a crack in the glass and shutting off. I pulled the heater out of the water and the glass shattered in my tank. I've had it in my possession for less than an hour and already have a headache. I buy the best product.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Good but not great

Get the job done on Fish & Aquatic Pets

The heater is really good for my 39 gallon aquarium and actually I think it will be able to heat a larger tank because they can heat my tank up to 90 degrees no problem, can probably go higher. I keep my tank at 80 though. The only bad thing is I have to fill the tank to the brim to cover the heater water line and I like to leave 2 inches of space in the tank. Also, glass is fragile, so handle it with extreme care. Finally, the cord is short and I have to use an extension cord to connect it…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

AVOID, please read and keep looking.

AVOID! Ordered on June 12, 2016 (order lookup date on Amazon) and it was working fine until this week 4/2/17. On 04/02/17 I woke up to find that the heater or thermostat inside was faulty. By default it works in closed loop (always on) and heats the tank to over 90 degrees as indicated by the digital thermometer and glass thermometer. Kill all but 2 fish in the aquarium. I've been eating fish since the 1990's so I know what I'm doing with a simple heater. Save the result I had and avoid this…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cable shorter than others

Might be the best aquarium heater

Having used this heater for over 6 months I can safely conclude that it is very poorly designed and can be deadly. In my case, I was constantly trying to keep the water temperature at the right level by turning the knob and then checking my thermometer again. One day while I was cleaning my aquarium, it seemed like the handle kept turning a little too high and all my fish were frying. Now I know it was accidental, but the system must have a safety shutdown, the internal sensor temperature is…
