I returned this product after finding the large Emerson logo on the switch under the controls. The pictures are misleading and don't show the logo just spaces which is what I wanted. I can't confirm the quality or functionality, but as a direct replacement for what I have, it turned out to be identical save for the logo and included all the hardware required.

I bought this item to replace an existing dimmer that just broke in my hand adjusting a cheap plastic slider. The Emerson switch I'm reviewing replaced it and is of much better quality. So far the switch has fitted snugly in the gap created by the previous one and feels more solid. The sliders are heavier quality or something and I feel like I have to worry about them popping out in my hand when I turn on the light or fan. Installation was also a breeze with long, color coded flex wires etc.

Please note that the product received will be slightly different from the picture as it now has a large Emerson logo. I'd rather not have it as it's listed. The switch is exactly upgradeable to a standard two-position "rocker" switch. To connect to the house installation, the device is sealed with a stranded wire that comes out from behind. Bought 2. The first tab broke before I installed it. the other went in fine and works well apart from the occasional internal spark from the fan side. I glued the other one with superglue, but then the tongue didn't go in anymore. I broke again and carefully applied glue to the sides of the slider, keeping the tab inside.
