All metal, tool-less design

I recently had two additional smaller capacity NVME drives that I removed from my computers for an upgrade. To turn them into portable drives to store my family photos that I put in the safe, I bought two different cases. I found the GMM M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure adapter to be a bit faster than the two I received. . Both feature an all-metal exterior and tool-less assembly, but this one is a little better. Get the job done but high cost compared to other similar or better products.

Considering the 512GB SSD I just bought for $49, a $39 case seems ridiculous. There's nothing wrong with this case per se, but it's nothing special and doesn't have the best design for optimal heat dissipation. Installation is easy and requires no tools. Just slide off the back cover and insert the disc. Unlike other cases, there is no ledge to hold the SSD in the case, instead you simply slide a cover over it to close it. Good but mixed on computer accessories and peripherals

It works great, looks good, no tools, compact. The speed tests are consistent with my same drive tested when in a different case. A unique slide latch holds the circuit board securely in place while the case cover slides into the rails on the side and a latch keeps it securely closed. Despite answering the question about thermal padding, my case didn't have any. Although it's a beautiful metal shell, there's nothing but air to carry heat to the lid.
