Description of GM Engine Mount Energy Suspension 3.1116R - Clamshell Design

High quality. High performance. Professional products. Hyper-Flex replacement polyurethane components stand up well to contaminants that often destroy rubber and have been engineered to give longer-lasting performance and not compress permanently.

Worked on a '96 Impala SS

Worked on a '96 Impala SS (5.7L LT1) - requires two felts Very high quality, nice and strong mounts compared to OEM (unbreakable) rubber .

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Will not fit standard mounts

GM makes many different mount part numbers. Each only offers one. They didn't fit my boxy '87 body. I had to replace the motor mount.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Frequency

High quality mount for engines and engine parts

Chevy K10 87 Arrived like a glove, seems to be of very high quality. Be sure to use the cable ties provided and tighten them! otherwise, getting the screws back is a nightmare.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

KEEPS ENGINE SECURE

This is amazing. I have 500 hp and there are only a few pieces of paper between my steering column and the manifolds - the engine rose and blocked my steering wheel. But with this engine mount only on the driver's side, I don't need any space there, and it never touches the steering shaft.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Expensive

1984 Chevy K10 350: Engines and Engine Parts

They fit my 1984 Chevy K10 with 350 engine. You have to remove the old brackets and spot weld a hole, then reuse the old clam shells (the old clam shells in my truck were better metal than the cheap new ones from the local auto parts store). Sold separately and each with instructions.

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Updates Available

Great product but beware.

These are good engine mounts. I don't quite understand why they don't come with a metal shell as regular motor mounts are less than $5 along with the shell. It's not a big deal, but be aware that in order to use them, you'll have to drill holes and reuse the metal casing of your old mounts.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Crumpled packet

Fits great! To look good!

Get these for my Camaro 91 where I am replacing the large pulley. I drilled out the rivets, cleaned and painted the cots, and the polyurethane insert of the energy spring snapped into place. I am very happy with them. Energy suspension makes a quality product. From now on I only use their products in my project.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Easy installation in old folding case

Easy installation in old folding case. You really need an old donor motor mount to repurpose a steel clamshell box, and a drill press for drilling old spot welds is much better, easier, and safer than using a hand drill. They transmit more vibration to your car than traditional rubber bushings, but this is a compromise with the strength and durability you get from polyurethane.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Long waiting time
