Bought 2 to enable guest wifi in room.

Purchased 2 to enable guest WiFi in a room at each end of a steel, brick and concrete building. Connected to a Netgear N300 router purchased in 2012 but never used. A Netgear router was connected to a TimeWarner (Spectrum) bridge. Worked great! While I was running the cable, another person set up the router and access points. No problems installing.

So far I'm impressed.

This is my third enGenius AP and so far I'm impressed. The range that I could achieve in my 2500 sqm. Feet (all on the same floor) not only gave me full coverage, but I could still walk about 75 feet in any direction outside of my home and still get a clear signal. Many of the hotspots I've used in the past couldn't even provide full coverage in my house. Having used enGenius products before, I was already familiar with the method of applying changes and click "Save/Apply", but after making all

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • A lot

Worst AP ever, don't buy it!

Don't buy this, worst AP I've ever used and I've used quite a bit. I bought two and one was with a FW Rev 200 (a few years old) the other with a FW 350. So they had a different user interface. Firmware cannot be updated! just sits and twists the needle but after an hour or so nothing has changed. I called their toll free number in California and got a record that they had closed the line due to the harsh conditions. So good luck if you get help. If you can use them with the default settingsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Fast change
Cons
  • Almost never

Great access point. unclear directions.

Works great. The setup wasn't intuitive. I had to make changes and then follow the link in the top corner to view and apply the changes. I had to call tech support to find out. This makes sense because it prevents you from restarting the device every time you make a change. However, there were no instructions telling me that. I still give it 5 stars because it works great, looks great and the tech support has been quick and helpful. I definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a hotspot.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great product but ask for help setting it up.

I appreciated the product more than the very short and inadequate paper installation instructions that came with it. Even the YouTube setup video I found was outdated and didn't provide any important steps. But the phone call with the company was great.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Crumpled
