The unreliable at only 100m line onsite

I've spent over 8 hours on the phone with engenius tech support only to find that after upgrading firmware, reconfiguring, and a million other steps that these two units are going to work barely. At 100m and a clear line of site my data transfer never gets above 500kbs. Not happy, but I guess I just won't buy their stuff again.

Pros
  • High 400mW power delivers long-range coverage
Cons
  • May require additional software to use all features

Great value! on my review.

I love the engenius products. The selection is great, the products are a great value and I have experienced no failures. Definitely recommend these.

Pros
  • Awesome product, great seller!
Cons
  • May experience connectivity issues in high-density areas

Great for long range

If you get one of these it comes with an SSID called EnGenius1, you have to change it to a name with all lower case letters, or it won't work. I had to call customer service.Overall I'm happy enough with it. It covers my entire 10 acres, and will probably go much farther, but I've only gone to the edge of my property. No more dead spots. If someone near you has a router without encryption that you can receive a signal, but it's weak, you can use the EnGenius as a repeater for their signal, you…

Pros
  • It works for our application
Cons
  • Technical documentation may be difficult to understand for average users

Master Blaster (once it's configured)!

Great, powerful transmission/reception, as long as you set it up correctly. I had to tap the talents of a "Computer Guru" friend of mine: he talked me through the settings, because at first, the wireless camera I was trying to link up, couldn't find the EnGenius unit. Only after configuring it for an unused channel could it be seen.Once configured, I got a super-strong signal from 150' away to that camera, powered by PoE through a 100' outdoor ethernet cord. Really well made and…

Pros
  • Thank you.
Cons
  • Product may not be compatible with all devices and operating systems

Excellent units for my opinion

Excellent device. I am running 2 units as a point-to-point air bridge at 1,200 feet. A bit complex to set up but EnGenius call-in support service was very helpful. I am very pleased with the quality and performance. Speed is very good

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • May be susceptible to unauthorized access if not properly secured

Perfect fit for wireless networking between buildings

This is a great product and solved my networking problem between two buildings separated by a street and another property about 200 ft. My old patch work wireless failed and I was in a jam. My workers were having to resort to texting from the warehouse which was ok short term. This bridge offered enough bandwidth to allow music streaming, internet, Voip phones, printing. Its great. Easy and simplified instructions made it a breeze to connect and has worked perfect. Just point them directly at…

Pros
  • works great
Cons
  • Limited customer support options for technical issues

Works like a champ!

I'm using this as an outdoor access point. I couldn't be happier with the results. I have a great WiFi signal at least a hundred yards away. The setup was a breeze. Love it!

Pros
  • After setting them up Just hook up an Ethernet cables and you have internet.
Cons
  • It did what it was supposed to do for approximately 9 months and then died.

I was excited to FINALLY have a good connection between my house and office. I received TWO of the ENS202, one to set up at the house and the other at my office, about 100 yards away. (I already have pieced together a DYI network to get internet to the office, but I wanted something which was designed for that very purpose, hence, why I purchased these units).I called Engenius because I didn't want to make errors when setting these up. After 1.5 hours of being on the phone, the rep realized he…

Pros
  • Works very well in my home
Cons
  • May require frequent maintenance to ensure optimal performance

Easy setup, works well

I'm using this as an access point from a house 400' away. The wifi signal is strong enough to stream apple tv and watch videos, so it is fast enough for me. It took about 15 min to configure, much longer to run the Ethernet outside of the house. I have basic home modem/router experience but no training. The signal doesn't make it into the basement, so eventually I'll add another of these to have a wireless bridge, but for now it is good enough.

Pros
  • Best bang for your buck
Cons
  • Antennas may need to be adjusted for optimal performance

Impressive performance

Used the ENS202 to solve a problem with a outdoor WiFi camera dropping out. The camera is maybe 100 yds away from access point and now the camera runs solid even on HD. Two things really impress me: (1)this Access Point also detects strongly many fairly distant SSIDs that none of my other Access Points or WiFi devices detect (2) The signal strength from the back of the AP is also strong, not just from the forward face as I saw in another review. Wish EnGenius would add MAC filter by SSID.

Pros
  • Great in the office
Cons
  • Limited range in areas with high interference

I have been using Engius equipment for years for security cameras. Yes instructions almost don't exist but on the website and support is awesome. I set this up in bridge mode between 2 building as far away as 3 city blocks but must be in line if site and it will work great for you.*** If you are not a computer tech with network experienced you will never figure out how to set this up***** on that note this is a great product that will give you the bandwidth you are looking for at a distended of

Pros
  • Solid performance.
Cons
  • May require professional installation for optimal performance

Great product by EnGenius.

Working great, strong signal over a long distance (>1000 ft) outdoors. I set it up months back, and haven't had to touch it. That's exactly what I wanted, and why I payed for the EnGenius name.

Pros
  • As described and we were very happy. Awesome!
Cons
  • May require advanced networking knowledge to set up properly

Did not work at all for me

Purchased this based on the recommendation in another review (for a different extender). Absolutely did not work.Powered this up strictly according to the instructions, got a few LED light signals, but NO signal strength lights even in the same room as the wireless modem. Furthermore, none of my 3 computers (all on Windows 10) would recognize this this network so that it could be configured. After 3 hours of various attempts, back it goes.

Pros
  • Easy to set up with the help of their you tube videos.
Cons
  • User interface may not be intuitive for all users

Less Than Average Performance

The EnGenius Access Points have less than average performance. We will never buy another one (and we buy hardware on behalf of many other companies)

Pros
  • Working excellent, provides signal all the way to the back of a 40,000 sq ft warehouse.
Cons
  • Product picture does not match what arrived.
