Unreliable, demanding, etc.

I immediately switched to USB 3.0 kvm for better video streaming and am very disappointed. As other users have said, the keyboard/mouse connection to the target is unreliable. A Linux target (Raspberry Pi 4) has a bunch of USB errors when trying to enumerate the device for a few minutes and then it starts working. Sometimes the KVM hardware or software doesn't handle hot-plugging well. Also the Linux host program hasn't been updated for a long time, I've tried using it with kernel 4.19 and 4.14

Pros
  • All-metal body and reinforced connectors for multiple connections and everyday use.
Cons
  • Security

If you need an emergency vehicle, you need this one.

This is the only emergency device I've found that connects to the client (master) computer via USB 3.0. I tried another company's USB 2.0 device and Epiphan just screwed it up. It's *much* more responsive and offers a moderately accurate rendering of the host computer's GUI. On a competitor's USB 2.0 device, the latency for mouse and keyboard actions was about 2 seconds and the video was blocky, jumpy, and blurry with very inaccurate colors. The epiphanic latency is there, but much lessโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nothing needs to be installed on the target computer. Works with any target operating system, even BIOS, UEFI and custom operating systems.
Cons
  • Upgradable

Save time and money

This is the most expensive portable KVM on Amazon. Keyboard and mouse connection will be lost after reboot. Or it just can't connect to the keyboard. And it can't capture the screen very often. This is a very annoying and bad experience. I used to use ATEN CV211 which had poor screen capture quality. So I want to switch to a new one. But the most expensive price does not mean the best quality. I can't find any other reviews or demo videos online. I really regret buying this material because Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) emulation over USB. Processes HDMI, VGA and DVI signals up to 1920 x 1200 including 1080p.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
