Worse Flicker Than Revain Basics

I have previously purchased equivalent Revain Basics lamps but was dissatisfied because they flickered noticeably at "half power" on my cooker hood despite being advertised as dimmable. I have several other Ecosmart dimmable bulbs so I was hoping these were better. I was wrong. These lamps are MUCH worse! Luckily I didn't return the Revain Basics until I tried them as I'm using them again (at least for now).

Pros
  • Fully dimmable, no hum, no hum, indestructible, and meets federal ENERGY STAR minimum performance standards.
Cons
  • Something else

Significant improvement over my 50w halogen cooker hood lights

I bought these LED lights to replace my original halogen (50 watt) hood lights. My old halogen bulbs still worked after 10 years, but they gave off an incredible amount of heat and each bulb used 50 watts. I have two bulbs on the hood. These new LEDs are phenomenal. The lights have good color rendering (Kelvin), use incredibly little power and don't generate a lot of heat. I use these bulbs on my Broan range hood and there are 3 lighting options. I was a bit concerned about possible flickering…

Pros
  • Power consumption: 5w (equivalent to a 50w standard incandescent bulb), estimated annual energy cost: $0.6 (based on 3 hours per day, 11 cents)/kWh, costs vary of price and usage from )
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Does not work with all lens hoods

They are bright, the light and color quality is good (not too white and not too yellow) and the beam angle is quite wide. The little thing is that they are slightly taller than my previous halogen bulbs. My main problem is not directly related to the product. Although they say they are dimmable, they don't work properly with my particular range hood (GE JVX5300SJ1SS). Everything looks great on a light background. At low settings there is a strobing effect that almost causes a seizure, around 30

Pros
  • Brightness: 450 lumens
Cons
  • Fade
