Cheap and flimsy replacement parts and accessories

This makes the metal clip very flimsy, my dryer door kept opening. After a week of taping the dryer door shut I decided to purchase a factory replacement door latch kit and I have to say there is absolutely no comparison. The metal of the factory product is much more rigid and keeps its shape. This product may work in a pinch, but do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars and purchase a factory replacement.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

NOT OEM, NOT metal and NOT able to hold the door closed unaided.

Contrary to the illustration, this is a plastic holder and lock. I ordered it because it was metal in the picture but unfortunately it wasn't the same as the picture. I had to thread a cotter pin through the back of the latch to keep it from falling out and had to use aluminum tape on the latch to make it thick enough to hold the door and keep it closed. Not worth it and unfortunately not worth returning it either.

Kenmore 90 Series Tumble Dryer

I'm tired of pressing the brush against the door of my Kenmore 90 Series Tumble Dryer. Quick and easy repair and works as advertised. One thing to check before you buy is that when you removed the dryer door, one of the hinge springs popped out. Not sure if this was the reason for the door opening mid-cycle, but it may have been part of the problem. I would have corrected this before purchasing a new lock if I had discovered it sooner.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • I really don't like it, it's ok

What is in the photo is not what you will get

Completely plastic, latch and latch. All plastic. What you see in the picture is NOT what you get. I find such misleading marketing extremely distasteful. Even the description mentions "as shown" and it's not true at all. Go to this one. What you see is what you get, and in between three, one of these will do. 236877 - ΠΠžΠ’Π«Π™ ΠšΠžΠœΠŸΠ›Π•ΠšΠ’ Π”Π’Π•Π ΠΠžΠ™ Π—ΠΠ©Π•Π›ΠšΠ˜ OEM FACTORY FSP WHIRLPOOL KENMORE MAYTAG ROPER KITCHENAID UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00M3BQZWQ&pd_rd_r=570d079e-c8e6-42cb-9866-60e8386face2&pd_rd_w=pvblj&pd_rd_w…

HOORAY! IT WORKS!: Parts & Accessories

I am very pleased to report that this latch replacement kit worked great on our old Maytag dryer (model: MDE6800AYW). In the past we had to pull up on the dryer door to close it to latch it, until the plastic female part eventually broke. I went to the Maytag website to find the part. It cost $10 plus $7 shipping and it should take around 2 weeks for delivery. Since we used duct tape to cover our dryer (we have four kids and do a lot of laundry), I decided to take a chance and go with the…

This did a great job repairing my old Kenmore Estate dryer.

The Revain system 'matches' well with new equipment but not as well with old ones as mine. My very old Kenmore Estate dryer is a champion built to last so I was quite surprised when the door started to open and I couldn't close it. I took a closer look and found the problem: the plastic part on the inside of the latch had folded and cut into the latch. I managed to remove a few screws from the front door and remove the latch, from the photos it looked like it matched almost exactly. Others were
