Ideal for hiking

Small, light, great for cooking. Keep in mind that this is more of a solo outfit than a multi-person outfit. Used in conjunction with http://www.amazon.com/GSI-50139-Outdoors-Haluite-Minimalist/dp/B0037DD3RO/ref=sr_1_2?s=outdoor-recreation&ie=UTF8&qid=1461124411&sr=1-2&keywords=gsi+minimalist and was able to boil 16 ounces of water in about 9 minutes. It has been found that the burning time of a cube is about 12 minutes. Also tried the Stanley Adventure Cook Set, it works but you have to…

Not perfect, but damn close

The lightest, simplest and most reliable cooking system on the market. What could be easier than "Open package, light cube?" So you need to slide the legs of the oven first. It's still about as foolproof as you can find. If you don't factor in the small back that comes with the stove, the weight is around 7 grams. That's half the weight of the Esbit fuel cube itself! The pros here are light weight and ease of use. Disadvantages include the fact that the stove needs a windbreak for maximum…

Featherweight Gear: Camp Kitchen

I bought this along with the Esbit 750ml Titanium Kettle. Initially, I thought of a conventional folding stove, which is also convenient for storing inserts, but weighs much more and does not fit in the cauldron. If you're looking to buy this incredibly lightweight folding stove, it's something to consider. Wind is always a big factor when cooking and for that you need some kind of windbreak. As you can see in the photo, it always includes 1 fuel cube. So if you need more cooking time or more…

An ultra-lightweight underlay solution! Perfect for eating in the mountains

The small titanium coaster is great but the rating below is a combined rating of coaster + Esbit fuel cubes. So if you are looking for ultra light solutions, this is a great solution. Choice, but not universal. Are you a mountain house style backpacker, which means you only need to boil 2 cups of water at a time to rehydrate your bagged meal? If so, then I highly recommend using Esbit fire cubes and standing like that for a while. However, if your dishes are more complex, require multiple…
