Good for baking or roasting but be sure to remove the b4 grill as it will stain the paper inside the thermometer and make it look like it isn't working properly. Maybe the spirit is over us.

I wish I had paid more attention to the bad reviews but I figured it was the most basic type of temperature sensor so what could go wrong. Well, I couldn't even get it over 100 degrees in my well done roast. I am extremely disappointed!

I bought this thermometer because it is oven and dishwasher safe. Used it for the first time on Thanksgiving. It worked well. There was some moisture in it after being in the dishwasher, but everything looks fine after a few days. I like an easy to read face and a temporary marker is a good visual marker.

I think it's easy to clean and use but it doesn't work like the needle won't move. The face is also plastic, I wanted one that can be put in the oven. I had it in my shopping cart because it was cheap, while looking for what I wanted I got interrupted and forgot about it. My husband accidentally ordered it while checking out something else.

I know my oven is a bit cold (apartment appliance) so most timed recipes leave the food undercooked to some degree . As can be seen in the photo I included in my review, this thermometer registered 175 degrees Fahrenheit when two "quick read" thermometers read actual temperatures around 125 degrees.
