Hammer or tuning fork, but definitely with poor coverage.

The first thing that caught our eye is that it can be used as a tuning fork. It "rings" when used. It works great and will probably become our favorite jackhammer. However, the coating already peels off after two days of light use. The tears on one side can be seen in the attached photos. This is disappointing as we like the construction and weight of the hammer.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are some downsides

Big Jackhammer

Nothing to say. The head was nice and solid, the magnetic button holder was just right, the handle was smooth and well made, comfortable to hold and very well balanced. I only sanded down the varnish on the handle as I don't like it on hammers and I think if you kept the varnish it would be annoying that the sticker on the handle leaves a few marks. I'd rather do it in the US, but Taiwan is fine. It's still Estwing and the quality is there.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Essential tool for upholstery work

I couldn't figure out what the forked end was for - obviously not for removing basting. I eventually found out that it was a magnetic end meant to pick up a nail from a rounded head so the end of the nail is pointing down where it will be. A light tap sets the pin in place, then the hammer is turned to drive it fully into the frame. The old hands stuffed nails in their mouths and pulled them out one by one with a magnetic end. I don't think I will.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Tape

I love this hammer! fits Hammers

I needed to run a 100 foot ethernet cable in our apartment because my employer was HIPPA compliant. The route goes along the wall at the top because of the curious cat, so I bought some clips. I knew my regular hammer would be too much for the tiny nails in the clips and my fingers. It showed up in the clip list, so I pulled the trigger. It worked great! It feels very well built, feels balanced in the hand and is easy to slip into your pocket while you work. Throw in a very reasonable price and

Good hammer, loose grip.

This is a slim nail hammer with a good shape, strong magnetic grip on nails and feels comfortable in the hand. Surprisingly, the handle was loose and a single wedge of steel fills the entire base, leaving no room for another blade. It was enough to just drive the wedge deeper under the surface to get a tight fit. But now the wedge, handle and hammer head are no longer at the level they should be. It will eventually fail and will need to be reassembled and blocked again. A great little tool for…

Good hammer, loose grip.

This is a fine nail hammer with good shape, strong magnetic nail grip and comfortable hand grip. Surprisingly, the handle dangled and a single steel wedge filled the entire eyelet, leaving no way to add another wedge. It was enough to just drive the wedge deeper under the surface to get a tight fit. But now the wedge, handle and hammer head are no longer at the level they should be. It will eventually fail and will need to be reassembled and blocked again. A great little tool for the price. But

Perfect for my needs.

This little hammer is exactly what I was looking for. I needed a smaller hammer to give me more control over the process of setting the rivets in the leather. It does the job. The only irritation is the effect of the "Tuning Fork" when hit by them. I fixed it by wrapping tape around the time. Another thing that is good and bad. The hammer comes tightly sealed in bubble wrap which is great for shipping. BUT when I tried to remove the bubble wrap with a utility knife I made a small cut along the…

Serious and honest review.

I'm sure this hammer is perfect for the purpose. However, I am an immature person who buys things for immature reasons. In this case, if you strike the magnetic end of the hammer sharply from the side with another metal object, the hammer will emit a harmonic sound similar to a tuning fork. When I first saw such a hammer, I was shown this trivial trick and realized that I needed this tool. As a practical matter, I've abused my hammer more than it deserves. I ruined its finish by hammering in…
