It works well. Plug and play on Linux. There are no link indicator LEDs.

This is Plug and Play on Linux (tested with 5.4 and 5.10 kernels). Works fast enough. and i3 machine via two switches with a client on pi4. There was some discrepancy, but the results in this area are: Full duplex, around 870 upstream and 840 upstream (Mbps) Half duplex, around 940 upstream and 860 upstream (Mbps) Lsusb reports this as: 0bda:8153 Realtek Semiconductor Gigabit Adapter Ethernet Corp. RTL8153 I only removed the star because I wanted LED displays. It works, so I ordered a second…

Saved me from buying a new computer

Lightning disabled my ethernet port I prefer not to use Wi-Fi with my home computer so I was afraid I'd replace my computer would have to. When I heard about this adapter I thought it might be worth a try. And it was... it arrived; I opened the box, plugged the adapter into the USB port, plugged in the ethernet cable and was back in airplane mode with a solid connection. It took less than 5 mins and was a reasonable price. I am very happy.

Didn't work with computer

I couldn't get the computer to recognize this adapter and obviously wouldn't use it as ethernet. I would return but to be honest I forgot and the return period has passed. Maybe search and see if drivers can be found or something, or try another laptop.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Not what I expected

Bought this product hoping to keep ethernet speed up on my new laptop which doesn't have an ethernet port. Didn't happen, so I just kept using WiFi. For me it was a waste of money.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Long time

Mixed feelings about computer and accessories

I have very mixed feelings about this device. I have three laptops at home and have tried using it with all of them. All 3 are Dell but different models, I tried them with USB 3.0 and 2.0. With Gigabyte Internet, all models should support this: - XPS 15 has download speeds up to 800Mbps - Precision 7750 - up to 400Mbps (up to 900Mbps if I use the onboard Ethernet port directly use) - Inspiron 3593 only up to 70 (!) Mbit/s. (Typically up to 200Mbps over Wi-Fi)

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • upgradeable

Great adapter for the price!

I work from home and needed a wired connection to my router, but my laptop doesn't have an ethernet port. I was a little wary of this adapter because it's cheaper. This adapter works great and was easy and convenient to use. The connection was perfect. No complaints at all!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Function adapter for network products

I have an Asus Vivobook without an ethernet port. I want to surf the web and do schoolwork at faster speeds and this ethernet adapter will do the trick. To test, I plugged my gigabit network cable into the adapter and my laptop was able to run at higher speeds, but it wasn't very stable. I'm not sure if my laptop's processor is causing intermittent internet speeds, or if the discrepancy occurs with all Ethernet to USB adapters. Overall this adapter is functional and does what I need it to do.

Pros
  • Wide compatibility
Cons
  • Confused

Recommendation for Linux users, proven work!

I have a Dell laptop with a 100MB network card built in! The built-in wireless card is even slower, with a maximum speed of 35Mbps. Fortunately, it has a USB 3.0 port, so I decided to buy a USB 3.0 Gigabit network card. I chose this card because it has drivers for Linux and I often use the Linux operating system. The internet package I pay for includes 200MB download and 35MB download. Internet speed test showed 216 MB. That's 16MB more than I pay! I made a new CAT6 550MHz cable in the LAN. I…
