Not Worth the Money!

This single board computer component is a complete waste of money for anyone who wants to upgrade their systems. While the expansion may add Ethernet ports, it does not work as advertised and requires extensive troubleshooting. The pros? It's somewhat affordable. The cons? It has poor performance and is not a reliable addition to any computer system. Stay away from this ethernet expansion if you actually want your computers to work well.

Pros
  • Easy expansion of Ethernet ports on Raspberry Pi board.
Cons
  • Compliance with 802.3af standards may require additional configuration or hardware, resulting in added costs or complexity.

Now it actually works!

I was hoping for a great product, but this device either doesn't work or is inefficient. The device comes without instructions. When I plug in PoE, the device gets power but the Pi-Zero doesn't. I double checked the alignment of the pins and it wasn't accurate. I bent a pin a bit to match the Pi Zero pins but it still doesn't work (no power to the Pi). I also tested the Pi-Zero with regular USB power and it works great. Unfortunately this happened after 30 days so I have no option to return it.

Pros
  • Single Board Computer
Cons
  • Damaged

Don't plug anything into the Pi's regular micro-USB connector. The hat steals it for use on the hub below. Ordered as little as possible for the project. The Pi Zero W mating pads are the exact size of the spring pins that connect the hat to the Zero. Unless they are perfectly aligned, no performance will reach zero. The little green light doesn't light up on the Zero. I found the easiest way to fix this is to solder a tiny piece of solder to the corresponding two pads on the Pi. This raises…
