Rejected - Dogs

Rejected. My dog pulled it out of the bottom just enough to bend the top. He's a golden retriever and probably weighs 70 pounds so I'd say the 500 pound headline is inaccurate!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Minor issues

protect my dog best learning and behavioral aids

It definitely screws deep into the ground with a drill and hasn't budged once since I've had it. I have a 75 lb boxer mix that has pulled and bent several other brands. This one survived. Added bonus: It folds up for easy mowing. The included cable is good. it is very stiff that gets stuck on our stairs. but it didn't break, so it's ok for us!

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • I will add later

Save your money on learning and behavioral guides

But a $3 piggy bank anywhere and I promise you it gets better than that. There's no head weight, pick and hook aren't hardened, so that they will bend and stay bent when trying to pry open a stubborn tent pole. Also, I had a rattle inside. After 3 rides the thing was so bent that I threw it in the trash. Save your money and spend less on a discounted hammer for better results.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Terrible! 25 kg dog bends easily Item

I bought this at first mainly because you can put it in the ground with a drill. The reality is that it probably won't work. You need a really soft pad for this to possibly work. I've been to the beach and it didn't dig into the sand. Second, this product bends very easily. My 25kg dog bent over this item on the beach in a few hours.โŒโŒโŒ Do not buy โŒโŒโŒLook for other options

Straining in a Week: Training and Behavior Guides

My dog tensed it in about a week. Although I was more concerned that he would break his neck. After that I started putting a harness on him. I gave it three stars because I really like it and we still use it every day. It's just a little harder burying it in the ground now. The included drill bit works well but I have to move around the garden and find patches of soft ground for it to work. Then when I find a spot where it's easy to pierce, it gets a little wobbly (I think that's why it'sโ€ฆ

So far so good - dogs

I have a 12 year old husky of 65 kg and a small dog of 15-20 kg, we are in a house without a fence pulled and since we rent, we can't do anything with it. So far this case has held up. It sits fairly firmly in the ground, even if the husky pulls on it occasionally. But he's also old and not as motivated to walk fast due to aching joints. I bought this one because it screws completely into the ground, which I think would be better than one that is straight but is a few inches off the ground andโ€ฆ

  • a good thing

  • can't remember but something happened

Attractive and practical, but not as heavy as a hammer

I've used this on two trips. One had hard mud, the other rocky mud. What I love about this hammer is the pull hook, the flat end for prying or digging, the color, and the red loop for hanging items. All the good stuff that needs to be in a whirling hammer. The only criticism is the weight of the hammer head. It's great that everything is light, but when you need to pound into tougher dirt I need something heavier to ride this stake. Since my camping situations had dirt in which stakes wereโ€ฆ
