My dog likes raw meat best

Our girl is very allergic to chicken and beef so we have to give her a special diet. At the local pet store we found pellets, the main source of which is kangaroo meat. I like to add a bit of flavor and after trying several canned lamb recipes it has become her favorite. In fact, she smells good. The lamb doesn't mind her allergies. It's a lot cheaper to buy a 12-pack from Revain, especially with free shipping.

The best canned dog food I could find

I buy this product often. I have 4 dogs and add this in addition to their dry food mixed with warm water. I use 1 can per day for 4 dogs. I also stuff it with raw bones and freeze it for special treats. The jar is full and there aren't many fillers in it. I have the feeling that I am absolutely worth my money. I like that they also prepare the product in the glass. Give it a try, your dog will love it!

Pros
  • Pet products
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

My dog is very picky and gets tired of the same food so I always try different kinds. I thought this one might be chunky, but it's in a pie shape and doesn't seem to like that style that much. I would like the label image or product description to say "pie" or "meatloaf pan". The label reads "packaged in the form of a meatloaf" in small print, which is not visible in the Revain image. If I could see it or read in the description that it's not fat, I probably would have missed it.

Cons

First of all, our Havanese hate everything but homemade food. She loves it - texture and smell are everything. BUT >> I will never buy again: A month has passed and I have seen her itch come back. AvoDerm Lamb is no longer available. He helped her dry her skin from allergies. Chicken WORSE. Followed by pork and beef. I bathed her (no soap used, just anti-frungul drops after the warm bath. She doesn't have enough oil like many Havanese) and saw large circles of sores on her back and groin.

  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

She eats it and heals soft poo

My elderly lady is not at all motivated by food but she loves Evanger's Chicken Drummets which I put in limited ingredient pellets. With the spring thaw she contracted giardiasis and required 2 treatments (the vet said not uncommon this year). Her stools never became hard, although she was free of infection. The Evanger website recommended this product for diarrhea and it was very quick. I now alternate lamb & rice with drummets on their pellets. She washes the bowl frequently (unusual for her)
