OEM filters are expensive but worth every penny to me. I've looked around for other alternatives that rank as high as these in terms of pollution reduction and haven't found any. I can't find a filter that replaces the UKF8001 that is both NSF/ANSI 42 and NSF/ANSI 53 compliant, let alone NSF/ANSI 401! The filter worked fine for about a month. I was able to get more than one cup of water from the water dispenser with strong pressure. About a month later, the filter causes the water dispenser to make a loud noise when drawing water, and the pressure is very low and slow. I was able to narrow down the problem to a filter.
