Perfect for 2005 New Beetle 2.0

This was just what I needed to remove the dust boots from our 2005 New Beetle without having to remove the intake manifold. It fits snugly on cylinder number 2 so take your time - it will slide across the trunk at the right angle. I did this in hopes of not having to change the wires, but unfortunately the last and easily accessible wire - cylinder #1 - had the spark plug cap in the trunk caught by the spark plug. The lid didn't come out so I twisted the lid a bit and it did - I pulled the lidโ€ฆ

so i did this for the first time. I played the instrument.

I have a VW MK4 GTI 2.0L (AEG). I replaced the spark plugs (NGK BKURET-10) and the ignition cables (NGK 57041) a few weeks ago. I'm new, so this is my first time doing something like this. I played around with the tool on the new wires prior to installation just to get an idea of how and where the tool would snag on the spade. I found this to be very intuitive and it saved me a lot of time and frustration removing/installing wires, especially for #2 and #3 cylinders. You don't need to removeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Special tool
Cons
  • Secret

Essential tool for changing spark plugs on VW Jetta 2002 (and similar models). This makes removing/installing wire tips very easy and quick. Also, no other engine parts need to be removed. With some effort I managed to service the spark plugs on cylinders #1 and #4 with needle nose pliers, but #3 and especially #2 was a whole different story. .With this tool I was able to get the job done in 5 minutes and didn't damage the wires/housing. Obviously spending money on a highly specialized toolโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
