Great extension cable, suitable for cables and connections

This extension cable works great, I bought it to use with a Xonar Essence STX II audio card, I need an extension cable because the only one PCI x1 slot is available on my motherboard Asus z87 Sabertooth board is too close to GPU blocking airflow to GPU fans. I have a huge case with Ultra and Extended Atx support, so I had a lot of extra expansion slots under the motherboard. After you swapped both ends of the extension cord, it was basically plug and play. The sound card worked fine, right at…

Didn't work on my system.

Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I have a USB 3.0 card plugged into it and a cable plugged into the PCIE 1.0 slot. After rebooting I lost my network connection. I unplugged the new card but left that cable plugged in, rebooted and still no network. I searched a bit and then plugged in the USB 30th stick and the system found and installed it and I have a network connection. I left the card directly connected and sent the cable back. Looks high quality but didn't fit me. Windows 10 and…

That was my last hope and yes it worked!

As I have read in other reviews. I, like many others, try to use this PCI slot hidden under the GPU. I read about a guy who ground down some of his GPU's cooling fins to fit underneath. I couldn't bear that thought. I figured it would be better to cut off about 1/8 inch of the PCIe connector. Make it a solid eighth. I used meat shears and a file to cut it. Card without having to give up my Claro Halo. Advice. Practice on a short cable, then use a longer one. Don't lean towards the ground as…

Unreliable in Computers & Accessories

Comes with short (standard) and long ribbon cable. I've tried using this for a PCIe x1 NIC with both cables and it's not reliable at all. The long cable either causes device error code 10 (device failed to start) or the device just randomly crashes. The standard cable didn't work at all. I plugged the NIC directly into the PCIe x1 slot and it worked with no issues. I'm not sure if I have a melody or not.

Cheap. got a job

Looks cheap but was cheap so no complaints just an observation. does the job. In my case, the task was to plug the wireless card into a PCI slot that was covered by my GPU's thick cooler. The extra strip could then get stuck in the GPU fan blades, but this was fixed thanks to a partially tightened zip-tie. There is also a blue light that I wasn't aware of. Doesn't quite go with my red and black theme, but luckily I hid it under a thick GPU cooler so it's not very visible.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Can I add something?

Graphics card blocked PCIe slot? Get it

I'm using a 2nd gen i7 setup and the updated graphics card I installed actually prevented me from adding a USB 3.0 card as it was consuming my PCI E heavily covered. I tried this extension cable and was able to get the ribbon under the motherboard into an empty slot on the case, so voila, now I have USB 3.0.

  • Free for educational purposes

  • Some little things

Male end shorts, free motherboard. :-(

I got this for the same reasons as everyone else. The problem is you can't see what's going on under that double wide graphics card once you have it installed. There is a nice change of pace the bend in the cable caused the little cable clamp to come loose but you don't really see it like mine. turned the car on and whoosh this cable put out its magic smoke (lots of magic smoke) and now it's dead Just like my motherboard Very NOT satisfied Why they aren't made with a hard right angle I'll never

  • Easy to use

Now I can use my blocked 1x connector

I used this cable to access the PICe 1x connector that is blocked by my graphics card. I moved the fan to my card and there was enough room for it. I connected this to a USB 3.0 card and it works great. The kit included a short and a long cable. I used the longer one. See photo.

Solution for PCI-E 1X Slot Blocked by Graphics Card

My EVGA GTX 1070 SC was blocking the PCI-E 1X port just below. I had previously tried one piece 1X riser adapters which turned out to be poorly done Chinese soldering that sat too high and was still blocked by the graphics card in the 16X position. This expansion was my last hope before removing the GPU cooler and replacing it with an NZXT Kraken G12 or G10. Luckily it turned out. Hardly. I had to remove a piece of metal jewelry that was attached to the graphics card with four hex head screws…
